Essex County Council increases HR visibility with Selenity ER Tracker

Essex County Council has gone live with its Human Resource (HR) case management solution – Selenity ER Tracker. The new cloud system, provided by finance and HR technology specialist Selenity, enables the Council to increase operational efficiency and access real-time HR data for enhanced strategic decision making.

With workflows tailored to Essex County Councils HR policy, the new software is driving consistent processes and compliance across the HR department. With a transparent view of all case information, the HR team is now able to follow streamlined workflows which encourage faster case resolution and subsequently reduce case costs.

Alexander Carlton, Head of People Insight & Technology at Essex County Council, explains:

Driving out inefficiencies is a key part of our workforce strategy. We previously used Microsoft Access databases to capture and update HR case information but the process proved to be too time-consuming and complex.”

The solution offered by Selenity has increased efficiency amongst the HR team and is helping us to drive new and effective ways of working. Being cloud-based means we can securely store and manage all case correspondence, such as emails, letters, phone calls and meetings in one place.”

The move to Selenity ER Tracker has also allowed the Council to monitor and track employee enquiries coming into its service centre. By doing so, the HR department has been able to continually develop their self-service content, by improving information accessibility and also reducing administrative processes.

Since moving to Selenity ER Tracker we’ve had no problems. Right from the start staff have wanted to use the system, from our case workers to people business partners and people consultants,” concludes Alexander.

Neil Everatt, CEO of Selenity, commented:

With local government feeling the pressure to do more with less, Councils are increasingly looking to embrace cloud technologies in order to deliver services effectively and help employees to be more productive. We’re excited to be working with Essex County Council, helping them to embrace new ways of working and achieve the ambitions set out in their workforce strategy.”
