More than 37,000 UK and Irish colleagues at over 1,000 stores and 13 offices and distribution centres now have access to Gympass’ 2,000 fitness facilities in over 450 towns within the UK and Ireland.
Aldi’s current wellbeing programme is designed to enhance colleagues’ mental, financial, nutritional and physical wellbeing. The Gympass offering will dovetail neatly with existing initiatives such as health insurance cover and an Employee Assistance Programme, and help employees adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Sophie Smith, HR Director at Aldi, said:
“Whether it’s by offering new benefits or providing awareness articles on our internal communications platform, MyAldi, we are always looking for ways to help colleagues improve their health and wellbeing.”
Aldi has a strong partnership with Team GB and has used campaigns such as Get Set to Eat Fresh and, more recently, Kit for Schools to encourage healthier lifestyles. Gympass is an example of an internal initiative for colleagues’ benefit that mirrors its customer commitment.
Sophie added:
“Our agreement with Gympass is just one of many things we’re doing to support our colleagues to adopt a healthy way of living. The flexibility and range of Gympass packages available suit our employees across the country and set it apart from traditional corporate gym discounts.”
Luke Bullen, Gympass UK&I Head of Corporate Wellbeing, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Aldi onto our platform. They’ve made an excellent start to the relationship by wholeheartedly promoting our service from the top tiers of management right across the business, including shop floor staff and their drivers.
“Aldi has embraced the Gympass concept fully and is working with us to encourage colleagues to fulfil their ‘everyday amazing’ reputation by engaging in physical activity for a healthy lifestyle.
“With senior managers and team leaders setting a great example to their colleagues, we are confident that many Aldi employees will take up the Gympass opportunity and find an activity to love.”
