The film and production house, which launched in May 2025, won two Gold Dolphins and three Silver Dolphins across a variety of categories at the prestigious awards ceremony, which was held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres on 25 September in Cannes, France.
Winning films included Justice Brothers, directed and produced by Film x People’s Kieran Hodges. Previously shortlisted for the Sony Future Filmmaker Award in Los Angeles, having been selected from over 11,750 submissions, Justice Brothers also screened at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City and the UK’s prestigious Raindance Film Festival.
Kieran Hodges, Creative Director and Filmmaker at FILM x People, commented: “For 15 years, these awards have celebrated the best in documentaries and online media in one of the world’s most renowned film capitals, Cannes. For us to come away from our first year with no less than five Dolphins – with everything our Executive Producer (Dan Jobson) and Co-Director (Matthew Farman) poured into these films – is an incredible milestone and proud moment for us as a team.”
Four of the five winning films were created for the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, an award that recognises unsung heroes of humanity. Following the film series success, Film x People were commissioned by the Zayed Award to produce a feature-length documentary which tells the story of the award. This film will premier at festivals around the globe early next year.
FILM x People is part of the People group of agencies, an independent creative collective at the forefront of the experience industry.
With award-winning Director Kieran Hodges at the helm, Film x People is based at a newly designed 2,153 sq. ft studio space at People’s existing Abu Dhabi HQ, Yas Creative Hub. The space features dedicated editing suites and a viewing room, equipped with a L’Acoustics 5.1 sound system.
